Still Life

On January 14th, the Microïds and GameCo jury members gathered to review all submitted creations and choose the best Still Life 2 trailer.

Over 120 participants from all over the world had entered the trailer competition.

The jury members are pleased to award Jihed Jaouabi (Tunisia) with the Grand Prix. His name will appear in the Still Life 2 credits, along the names of all the game creators.

The jury, impressed by the overall quality of the trailers sent by the series fans, also awarded two finalists for the originality of their work: Gavin O’Brien (Ireland) and Aleksander Raczkowski (Germany).

Still Life or the adventures of Victoria McPherson

Victoria McPherson, a young and gifted FBI agent, investigates some of the most difficult and sordid crimes in American history. Her specialty: hunting down serial killers.

Victoria is the granddaughter of private detectiv Gustav McPherson, who made his reputation in Post Mortem. Victoria is a born investigator, relentlessly driven by some inner fire that helps her unravel and solve the most complicated felonies.

There are two gameplays in the Still Life series, which creates an innovative gaming experience: players control the actions of two different characters, switching from one to the other. As they progress, they realize what lies in store for the game's characters and the complex ties linking together their fates.

The series draws its inspiration from the movies (Dirty Harry, Silence of the Lambs, Seven, Zodiac) and TV police series (CSI, X-Files, Without a Trace, NYPD Blue).

Post Mortem

The first installment in the series, Post Mortem, is set in the 1920s and introduces former American detective Gustav McPherson. Gustav lives in Paris and is asked to investigate the brutal murder of two Americans - the sister and brother-in-law of the fabulously wealthy and mysterious Sophia Blake. The French police have covered up the case, wrongly accusing private investigator Jacques Hellouin, meaning that Gus will have to look for an increasingly obscure set of clues and eventually enter a world where ritual murders are committed to satisfy mystical ancient beliefs.

Still Life

Victoria McPherson, Gustav's granddaughter, makes her first appearance in the second installment of the series. Victoria, an FBI special agent, is investigating the fifth victim of a serial killer whose calling card bears a disturbing resemblance to a killer hunted by her grandfather many years ago.

The game is simultaneously set in two different eras - 1920s Prague, with Gustav McPherson trying to track down a prostitute killer, and Chicago in 2004.

Still Life received tremendous press acclaim around the world, and there are still countless theories among its legions of fans as to the identity of the infamous Mr. X, who was last seen slipping from view in the murky waters of a Chicago canal.

Still Life 2

Still Life 2 sets the scene for a new investigation with agent Victoria McPherson and finally lifts the curtain on the ending of Still Life!

The horribly mutilated body of Ellen Dunnigan is found on the shoulder of Highway 201. The modus operandi and the video sent to the police and media leave them in no doubt as to the killer's identity: the East Coast Killer has struck again. Once more, the serial killer has been extremely careful not to leave the slightest clue. A few hours later, journalist Paloma Hernandez, who has been covering the East Coast Killer's crimes, is kidnapped.

Still Life 2 allows gamers to control the actions of two characters bound by the same fate, offering two totally different gaming experiences. By guiding kidnapped Paloma through the killer's lair, players can sense her anguish and the oppressive atmosphere, skillfully dodging the deadly traps in order to survive. With Victoria, players can switch over to investigation mode, where they must look beyond the horror and get inside the killer's mind, so that he can be taken down once and for all.
